“It was a great pleasure working with MPS during my job search. It took only two weeks from my initial contact with him to signing the contract for a wonderful job in Baltimore, MD. I found my MPS recruiter to be completely reliable and an ultimate professional in dealing with me and the hospital staff. He was always prompt with follow-ups, and he readily tackled ongoing issues with uncanny ability to resolve them in a timely fashion. His easy-going and likable personality is a plus to his ability to bring agreements to the negotiating table.”
—Senior Diagnostic Radiologist, Maryland
Radiologists today have some confusing waters to navigate in their job search. It is our business to know the trends in Radiology and offer you guidance and perspective on the sometimes overwhelming mix of search criteria. Many new significant changes have come about in Radiology in the recent past, including the all-pervasive influence of the DRA. We hear from so many new graduates and experienced practitioners alike just how difficult it is to sort out the variables: geographic areas; wide variation and overall changes in compensation and benefits nationwide; the new movement toward dedicated in-house hospital departments vs. private practices; differences in partnership offers (e.g. how long is the track, and just how “equal” is the partnership being offered), clinical issues (how current is the equipment, the training of the associates in the practice, the complementary technologies such as PACS and Nighthawk coverage, etc), and numerous other individual concerns they may have.
To confuse things even more, you are probably receiving a barrage of calls and emails from physician recruiters who may often not be particularly knowledgeable in your field. At MPS, we focus on Radiology placement, and understand the issues involved in choosing the right practice better than other physician recruitment firms who handle multiple specialties and only deal with Radiology opportunities as they happen to come up.
When you first speak with one of our recruiters, you will notice an immediate difference. We spend time to determine what your goals are in your practice search—what you really want—before we ever present an opportunity to you. Once we know your priorities, we have several resources we can draw from to help facilitate your search:
- All of our current opportunities which fit your criteria.
- Ongoing research on upcoming opportunities due to expansion needs, anticipated retirement of senior partners in specific groups, etc. These practices will not necessarily be advertising in journals or on the usual posting sites.
- And information we receive regularly about additional opportunities from our business partners nationwide who may have proprietary relationships with certain practices for opportunities which are not otherwise available.
We find that most Radiologists list confidentiality as a primary concern. At MPS, we NEVER submit your C. V. or mention your name to any client organization before we have provided you with complete details on an opportunity and you have given us your permission to do so. We do this for your benefit and for ours as well. Nothing could be more embarrassing to us than to present a candidate to a client and then find out that he or she is not interested in the opportunity or has already been in contact with that client.
